Process/Technique:
I set up the subject on a black matte board and placed a black sheet in the background. I then Set the shutter speed to 20 seconds and Aperture at 8.0. After this, I focused in on the subject using auto focus and then switched my focus to manual so that the my camera would not refocus when I hit the shutter button. I used my phone screen to light the scene and on my I-pad I found a neon lights image to use as the background. I then turned the lights off making sure I had complete darkness and pressed the shutter button. I grabbed my phone and glided the light in slow swiping motions over the areas I desired to be lit. (tricky part: in order to not get to much glare on the glass face, hold the light source at different angles above the camera, in this case it was high above the subject). I did this for around 5-10 seconds and placed it down. Next I grabbed my I-pad and glided it slowly behind the watch for the remaining amount of time for the background (by the time the shutter closed the I-pad was out of the frame).
